Veterinary Practice Sales
Selling your practice can seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. When you work with us, we’ll make sure you understand the process start to finish, walk you through the steps and make the process as easy and efficient as possible.
An Efficient & Culture-Focused Process
- We’ll start by doing our own valuation which will be done the same way as the corporate buyers do theirs.
This is essential for two reasons:
First, it sets a realistic expectation for what your practice is worth.
Second, we uncover the key questions and details buyers will want to know BEFORE sending your information to them. This one crucial step, which other brokers do not take, saves a significant amount of time for everyone involved in the transaction and ensures you get the best offer possible from buyers. - Once we complete our valuation and answer all questions that came from the analysis, we’ll combine all your information together and prepare a package for the buyers you’d like to get offers from. At this point, we do things differently than most other brokers. Instead of sending your information to 15+ different groups, We’ll select the top 5-7 best buyers based on matching the characteristics of your practice and the criteria of practices that each buyer is looking for. Filtering out buyers up front based on criteria such as location, preferred sale structure and other criteria saves time for everyone. It also makes your decision easier by providing you a select group of buyers that will already be a good match for you. Then, all you have to do is decide which one will be the best fit. This is where our culture-focused process kicks in. We will facilitate multiple conversations with each buyer to ensure you understand what they bring to the table, how they operate, what changes after a sale, how they will support you and ultimately if they are a good fit for your practice. This is essential to ensuring your practice continues to succeed after the sale.
- Once we get offers in, we’ll evaluate them together with your legal counsel to see which one offers the best price and terms. This is also when we’ll negotiate certain aspects of the deal. Once you have the right fit, pricing and terms you’ll accept the offer and move on to the closing process. It is here where having a dedicated and efficient legal counsel is critical to closing in a timely manner.
- After closing, it’s time to celebrate the payoff of all your hard work!
